A high-octane production, ‘Ready 2 Rumble’ sees the Protocol label boss hark back to the early days of electronic dance music, layering a bouncing bassline with spiralling synths, further driving the pace with a playful boxing style announcement sample to electrifying effect. Fusing his signature sound with a distinct old school acid house flavour Romero has ensured yet another classic, club ready cut that will dominate the festival scene over the coming months.
Having promised his fans a host of new material for 2016, Nicky Romero has not failed to disappoint, showcasing his production skills with a diverse array of releases from the disco inspired ‘Future Funk’, progressive house perfection ‘Novell’ and its equally uplifting vocal edit ‘This Moment’ and of course, giving a nod to the old school with this latest offering. Keeping just as busy behind the decks as in the studio, this year the Protocol label boss has ensured his tour schedule is just as jam-packed as his release one, with appearances at key festivals around the globe, this year has also seen Romero spin to yet another sold out crowd at his Protocol Recordings show in Miami, as well as hosted his own Protocol stage at this year’s Tomorrowland Brasil and recently announce the Protocol x ADE 2016 annual showcase – all part of the Protocol Recordings ‘Get Connected’ Tour.
